FSC accreditation

Because forests matter, Stage Systems has FSC accreditation from the Forest Stewardship Council and source raw wood materials from FSC assured products. In doing so it is clear to see how FSC are helping to protect more than the forests alone. FSC labelled products are made with consideration for people, wildlife and the environment.

 

The FSC accreditation guarantees that the trees that are harvested are replaced or allowed to regenerate naturally. FSC also protects the rights of indigenous people to use the forest; parts of some forests are out of bounds entirely, in order to protect rare animals, plants and sacred sites. Ensuring local workers are used; FSC protects their wellbeing by insisting on training, safety equipment and a decent salary plus all the wood is tracked from forest to destination to certify its true origin.

 

FSC is the only wood certification scheme endorsed by the major environmental charities, including WWF, Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace and The Woodland Trust.

 

Understanding the true meaning of FSC and the amazing work involved protecting the natural habitat of the wood, now and in the future, Stage Systems are proud to obtain materials from this source.  There is a cost involved, a slight increase in the price of staging decks, but these are manufactured from the finest quality wood, and from a sustainable source that is considering the people who live and work in the area and their home environment, so really it is only a small price to pay.
