stakesby community primary school
Out with the old, in with the new school stage.
Old, heavy, ugly wooden stage blocks, went out and new light, robust, striking units came in, so no wonder the children's eyes lit up!
Stakesby Community Primary School based in the seaside resort of Whitby, needed a new stage for their end of term production based on the Diwali festival. This production was the climax of the term for years 3 & 4 who had been working on an Indian theme throughout. With other productions in the pipeline, such as years 5 & 6 performing a singsong from WW2, Mr Jackson, the head teacher, realised that it was high time to replace their existing stage and saw the potential and flexibility that Q-Build staging could offer.
As with many schools, space and storage is at a premium at Stakesby. The main hall is used for many people and many purposes, so to be able to pack up and store the stage away is a wonderful concept for the school. Q-Build is an original and versatile staging solution, that is compact to store with individual modules that slot together to form a strong and tough platform. So simple that even a child can do it, and they do! The pupils at Stakesby put their own stage together with the lightweight frames and decks to produce various combinations, flat or split level stage, wooden finished or carpeted, that suits every staging need. From Diwali to World War II and even an Easter egg competition, Q-Build has adapted for all.
With decision made to purchase from Stage Systems, the icing on the cake was that from decision to delivery was less than one week!
