Beacon Community Choir was founded in September 2007 to enable the wider community to share a love of music and singing.
Over the years they have covered a wide range of music from pop songs, musical theatre, and an Old Time Music Hall to Faure’s Requiem.
They regularly perform Christmas Concerts, sing carols at Halton House for charity, host and perform at the annual “Music on the Lawn” music festival, and occasionally join with the choir of St Mary the Virgin, Ivinghoe to sing for weddings. In 2017 we were privileged to be asked to sing choral evensong at Gloucester Cathedral.
Judith Sheridan, the Musical Director is well known within the local community as a singer, conductor, and teacher. She has conducted the Beacon Community Choir since it started in 2007. John Cameron the President is one of the most versatile composers in Britain today, his career covers many genres including movie scores, recording work and writing and arranging for music theatre and legit theatre.
Q-build portable staging was first purchased by Marsworth Village Hall in 2001 and shared with the choir and church for over 20 years.

“Our Choir, Beacon Community Choir have been using Stage Systems equipment for several years, slowly adding to it as finance allows.
It is wonderfully simple to build and dismantle and very safe and strong, particularly when used in conjunction with the safety rails. Having two heights of staging is extremely useful in creating a tiered effect so that everyone can see our Musical Director and be seen by the audience.
The units stack very easily and take up minimal floor space, which is so often at a premium and it is easily transportable, which is so helpful for us as it is also used by our local Village Hall for events.
