Peter Sayer, Hon Secretary with the Choral Society, approached Stage Systems enquiring about a tiering block for their upcoming concert, the first in 2 years due to the pandemic. After an initial meeting at the venue to discuss their requirements, we were able to offer a system that would safely seat approximately forty choristers on four tiers. They required a system that was quick to build and dismantle, requiring no tools, so Q-plus was the ideal solution.
Emmanuel Church in Loughborough is a magnificent place of worship and community space with beautiful aesthetics including large stained-glass windows, internal arch detail and beautifully decorated high ceilings. The Church can hold a congregation of around 250 people.

Stage Systems were invited to attend the concert and enjoy the joyful and inspiring music. The choir performed Vivaldi Gloria, Pergolesi Magnificat, Gjeilo Winter Songs and Bach Double Violin Concerto. Special guest Sopranos Ella McNamee and Lisa Bradburn sang beautifully during the concert. Accompanist, Sam Giles made his debut with the Society and 4tissimo Quartet gave a stunning performance.
Musical Director Sue Ford started the choir in 1999 where rehearsals took place in her living room. Since then, the Choir has developed into a highly successful Choral Society with some seventy members. The choir has grown in numbers and ability, and this has been their first concert in 2 years due to the pandemic. The Choir has persevered using Zoom and online performances, however there is nothing better than finally getting together in person to perform alongside each other for their community.
The choir always welcome new members and no audition is necessary, just enthusiasm and commitment. As Sue Ford stated in the Concert Programme, “the health benefits of singing are well recognised: physical, mental and spiritual and as we have been through these tough times, choir members have developed strong bonds and shown great teamwork.” The choir meet on Thursday evenings 7:30pm until 9:00pm and sing a variety of music, you can contact them on 01530 243822.

The Society’s next concert is on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th June 2022 at 7:30pm, entitled, Music for a Jubilee Year and will take place at Newtown Linford Village Hall.
