- Decks: Available in various sizes, these should fit the intended dimensions of your stage.
- Frames: Available in various heights and can also be stacked to allow for height versatility
- Steps: Available in various heights to assist with accessibility to your stage
- Tie plates: Essential for securing the stage
- Handrails: Important if your stage is elevated.
- Skirting and ramps: Optional components that can improve both aesthetics and accessibility.
Step 2: Prepare the Area
Proper preparation is crucial for a successful stage build. Here’s what to do:
- Clear the area: Remove any obstacles or equipment from the assembly area to create a safe working environment.
- Ensure level ground: The surface where you build the stage should be flat. This is important, as an unlevel stage can lead to safety issues.
Step 3: Assemble the Frames and Steps
- Frames: Begin positioning the frames in their designated locations according to your planned stage design.
- Attach tie plates: Ensure frames are connected by the relevant two hole or four hole tie plates
- Steps: Hook on steps in your desired location – remember, this must be before the decks are positioned
Step 4: Position the Decks
- Position the Decks: Carefully place the platform decks on top of the assembled frame. (If you are using noise reduction plugs, ensure these are inserted into the frames before positioning the decks).
- Insert bungs: If you are using standard bungs, these can be placed into the holes after the decks are positioned.
Step 5: Add Safety Features
- Install Handrails (Optional): If your stage is elevated, handrails may be required to prevent falls. These can be easily inserted through the deck holes and into the frames underneath.
- Add Skirting/Fascia Panels (Optional): To create a more polished look, consider adding magnetic skirting or fascia panels around the perimeter. This can hide under-stage storage and enhance the overall appearance. Ensure the skirting/fascia panels are securely attached to avoid it being a tripping hazard.
- Install Ramps (Optional): If accessibility is a concern, consider adding ramps for easier access to the stage. Ensure that ramps are securely fastened and meet safety regulations for incline and width.
Step 6: Final Adjustments
- Final checks: Walk over the stage once more to ensure all decks are firmly in place. Pay attention to any areas that may have shifted during assembly.
- Visual check: Check your stage is positioned correctly for your audience to see, are there any obstructions that need moving?
