When specialist college, Brooksby Melton College required a versatile and easy to use staging solution, Stage Systems had just the answer!

Located in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, the college offers a wide array of courses, with everything from animal care and agriculture to the arts and media.

With a popular and successful performing arts department, that offers a range of courses from degrees to level 2 diplomas, the college wanted to add to its already considerable facilities.

With traditional staging already available to students, the course leaders wanted to give students the opportunity to manage their own performance space, in an effort to encourage creativity, independence and to help students learn more about stage management.

However, the solution needed to be adaptable, lightweight, easy to store and quick to build.

Thankfully, Stage Systems had just the solution – Q-build. Not only does Q-build require no tools to build, the frame structure, which supports a series of decks, requires little to no training to use, making it perfect for locations where users frequently change.

Durable and robust, with Q-build students at the college are now able to create a range of layouts, both large and small. The system also allows multi-level stages to be built, offering students increased versatility.

What’s more, because the system is so easy to use, it makes changing layouts in a short space of time a viable option, allowing students even greater flexibility in their performances.

Q-build is available with a range of accessories which include access ramps, steps and safety rails along with a choice of deck finishes including carpet or birch.

For course leaders, the fact that Q-build requires minimal supervision to use is a real bonus, freeing them up to spend time with students on other activities.
